The Quickest Five Homemade Recipes This Ramadan

Ramadan is known to be the time of year when the Chef in every mother comes out. We know things can get a little hectic between work and preparing food in time for iftar, so we did some digging and found five recipes that will not only be prepared in a short time but also have everyone begging for more.   

1.Classic Home-made Burgers 

A burger lover? Then this must be the right and simplest choice to express your hidden talent this Ramadan. With this lovely spring weather – turn it into a barbeque and enjoy the fun! 

Ingredients for 3-4 servings: 

  • ½ tbsp of olive oil 
  • finely chopped onion  
  • 500g of ground beef  
  • 1 tsp dried herbs of your choice 
  • 1 egg, beaten  
  • 4 slices of cheddar (optional for cheese lovers) 



  1. First step is to heat the olive oil in your frying pan, then start to add the onion and cook it for about 4-5 minutes until caramelized 
  2. Combine the beef, herbs, egg and onions in a bowl and mix them well 
  3. Divide the meat into 3-4 pieces  
  4. Knead the meaty mixture to the desired shape 
  5. Apply the burgers on a preheated griddle for about 5-6 minutes on each side. While the second side is cooking, lay a slice of cheese on top to slightly melt 
  6. Add your favorite condiments to spice it up, whether it be salad options, ketchup, mayonnaiseDijon mustard or some spicy jalapenos 


2. Chicken Parmigiana 

Not your average chicken recipe, this is the tale of cheese lovers; Parmigiana! 

Ingredients for 3-4 servings: 

  • 2 cups of panko breadcrumbs 
  • 1 tbs of chopped thyme leaves 
  • 2 tbs of chopped oregano leaves 
  • 1 tbs salt  
  • 1⁄2 cup of all-purpose flour 
  • 2 eggslightly beaten 
  • 4 x 180g of chicken breasts 
  • 2 cups of Sunflower oil 
  • 80g of your choice of shredded cheese (mozzarella is recommended!)  
  • 500g of tomato sauce 


  1. First, start with combining the panko, thyme, oregano and salt all in one bowl 
  2. Flatten the chicken breasts by applying pressure onto it with your hands 
  3. Similar to an assembly line, the chicken will take its rounds around all three bowls 
  4. First, the chicken will be placed in the flour  
  5. Then dip the chicken into the eggs  
  6. Lastly fully cover the chicken with the panko mixture    
  7. Preheat the oven to 220°C 
  8. Heat sunflower oil in a frying pan with medium-high heat, then add the chicken to cook for about 4-6 minutes on each side until you achieve a golden color and chicken is thoroughly cooked   
  9. Top the chicken breasts with the tomato sauce then the shredded cheese and let it cook in the oven for a couple of minutes till the cheese melts 
  10. Sprinkle some oregano on top and you’re all set 


3. Spiced Potato Jacket 

Potato lover? You will surely like to try this new recipe with spiced potatoes – just the perfect amount of blended flavors!  

Ingredients for 3-4 servings: 

  • 350g of potatoes 
  • 2 cups of frying oil 
  • 1 tbs of salt 
  • 1 tbs of pepper 
  • 1 tbs of paprika 
  • 2 tbs of olive oil 
  • 1 tbs of any spicy pepper according to your own taste 


  1. Wash the potatoes well and keep the skin on 
  2. Start by cutting the potatoes into mini cubes 
  3. Heat the oil in a frying pan  
  4. Fry the potatoes half way through and then remove from heat  
  5. Add spices to the potatoes and toss back into the oil to cook fully  
  6. For an even bolder taste you can sprinkle on shredded cheddar cheese   




4. Bacon Mac ‘n’ Cheese 

Suitable for anytime, any day with the easiest steps for macaroni & cheese lovers! 

Ingredients for 3-4 servings: 

  • 225g smoked streaky chopped bacon  
  • 4 garlic cloves 
  • 1 tbs of chopped thyme leaves 
  • 1 tbs of mustard 
  • 300g macaroni 
  • 3 cups of milk 
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour 
  • 11/4 cup of cheddar 
  • 1/4 cup of chopped parsley leaves  


  1. Start by bringing macaroni to a boil, then remove from water  
  2. Sizzle the bacon on the stove on high heat  
  3. Add your spices and condiments to the bacon to cook alongside for that savory flavor  
  4. Place the macaroni in a separate potAdd the milk and 11/3 cups of water to your macaroni 
  5. Add the flour to the macaroni along with half of the cheese and stir for 6 minutes 
  6. When the macaroni & cheese is ready add the rest of the cheese and sprinkle with parsley 


5. Tiramisu 

We can’t end this list without a recipe to satisfy your sweet tooth! 

Ingredients for 3-4 servings: 

  • 1 cup of heavy cream 
  • 2 tbs of fine sugar  
  • 1 tbs of vanilla extract  
  • 1 cup of cream cheese 
  • Package of lady fingers – make sure to crush them  
  • ½ cup of brewed coffee 
  • 2 tbs cocoa powder   


  1. First, start by whipping the heavy cream, sugar and vanilla extract together well and then add the cream cheese  
  2. Lay half the crushed lady fingers down in a pan and pour over half the cream cheese mixture on top, create another layer by repeating this step with the remainder of the lady fingers and cream cheese mixture  
  3. Finally sprinkle the cocoa powder on top for a perfectly sweet dessert
