The Academy Awards held its 8th annual Governors Awards last Saturday night at the Hollywood and Highland Center, Los Angeles. As part of the ceremony, beloved action star Jackie Chan, film editor Anne V. Coates, casting director Lynn Stalmaster and filmmaker Frederick Wiseman received the prestigious Academy Honorary award, which honours exceptional lifetime contributions to the motion picture arts and sciences.
The ceremony once again served as the formal introduction to Oscar season, leading up to the much awaited awards ceremony in February.
