Prof. Dr. Hani Sewilam has served as Egypt’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation since August 2022. His 2026 milestones include launching a nationwide strategic plan for water-lifting stations, advancing a smart agricultural water management partnership with Spain, and inaugurating the state-of-the-art Irrigation Museum in the New Administrative Capital in August 2026. Regionally and globally, Dr. Sewilam also co-chaired key interactive dialogues ahead of the UN Water Conference while navigating transboundary Nile diplomacy to safeguard Egypt’s legal water rights.
