Nour Morshedy

On Balance, Business & Bold Leadership

Morshedy Group has been a driving force in Egypt’s real estate industry for decades, reshaping skylines and redefining contemporary living. Steering this powerhouse is Nour Morshedy, a leader who seamlessly fuses business with a deep-rooted passion for design and innovation. As CEO and owner, she has propelled the company’s expansion while preserving the legacy that built its name over the years. Her leadership extends beyond strategy and growth—it’s also shaped by her role as a devoted mother of two, adding a unique perspective to her journey. In an exclusive conversation with Enigma’s Farida Elserty, Nour Morshedy delves into her path to success, the challenges of steering a major real estate empire in a male-dominated field, and her vision for the future of Morshedy Group.

Founded in 1983 by Mohamed Morshedy, Morshedy Group has been a trailblazer in Egyptian real estate, shaping communities with a commitment to excellence. What began with residential developments in Maadi has since evolved into a multifaceted empire spanning healthcare, education, and entertainment. Driving this transformation is Nour Morshedy, a dynamic leader who honours the company’s legacy while pushing it towards an innovative future. With a bold vision and a deep connection to the brand’s roots, she continues to redefine what’s possible in the industry.

“My journey began with studying architecture, which provided me with a strong foundation in real estate,” Morshedy reflects. “It taught me to pay attention to details, allowing me to learn quickly at Morshedy Group. This focus has been crucial to my success in a competitive environment.”

For Morshedy, carrying forward the family legacy is both an honour and a duty. “The legacy of Morshedy Group is deeply personal to me. I strive to push boundaries while staying true to our core values,” she shares. “It’s about respecting the past, learning from it, and evolving with the future.”

Under her leadership, Morshedy Group has evolved from a team of talented architects and engineers into a powerhouse of innovation. Her ambition, adaptability, and commitment to excellence have not only strengthened the company’s presence in the real estate sector but have also expanded its influence across industries. Dedicated to designing exceptional, environmentally conscious developments, she continues to push boundaries, ensuring that Morshedy Group delivers visually striking, high-quality projects with lasting impact.

With the real estate landscape constantly evolving, she has played a key role in ensuring the company remains at the forefront of innovation. “We are focused on developing integrated communities that enhance lifestyles,” she explains. “Our projects go beyond buildings; we create environments prioritising comfort, sustainability, and modern living.”

Her leadership is not just about maintaining the company’s growth, but also about reshaping the industry’s future. “The real estate sector in Egypt is shifting towards sustainability, smart living, and digital transformation. We are actively incorporating AI and green technology to ensure our projects align with this vision,” she adds.

With a degree in architecture from the American University in Cairo (AUC), Morshedy entered the family business with an inherent understanding of design and innovation. However, leadership demanded more than technical expertise—it required a strategic mindset, resilience, and an ability to adapt.

“I believe in leading by example,” she shares. “I never ask my team to do something I wouldn’t do. This creates respect and accountability. Open communication allows us to adapt quickly and drive sales growth.”

A forward-thinker by nature, Morshedy is deeply intrigued by the future and its possibilities. “We live in an era where AI is making information more accessible than ever, but it’s what you do with that information that truly matters,” she reflects. If given a superpower, she would choose foresight. “I would love to see the future—pre-planning and being prepared have always been important to me.”

Her leadership has resulted in a remarkable boost in Morshedy Group’s sales, setting new industry benchmarks. She attributes this success to fostering a culture of respect, agility, and forward-thinking.

Beyond financial growth, her leadership style is deeply rooted in empowering her team. “A successful leader uplifts those around,” Morshedy states. “I invest in my team’s development, ensuring they have the skills and confidence to innovate and take initiative. This culture of empowerment translates into stronger results and a more dynamic work environment.”

Her journey has not been without its challenges. Entering a male-dominated industry came with its fair share of obstacles, but Morshedy approached them with resilience. “As I said, I lead by example and share my experiences to empower other women,” she says. I support mentorship programs that connect young leaders with experienced professionals.”

As a young woman at the helm of one of Egypt’s most prominent real estate companies, Morshedy’s journey was full of uphill battles. “Being in a male-dominated industry has challenges, but I see them as growth opportunities,” she explains. “Balancing my roles as CEO and mother has taught me resilience. I build a supportive network and promote an inclusive culture.”

Motherhood, she believes, has played a crucial role in shaping her leadership style. “Motherhood has taught me empathy and flexibility. These skills help me manage challenges and support my team’s growth effectively.”

Her ability to seamlessly integrate her personal and professional responsibilities is a testament to her disciplined approach. “I don’t have a specific morning routine; it’s usually busy getting my family ready because I love to start everything very early. However, I reflect each night on my day and set goals for the week. This helps me stay focused.”

Striking the balance between work and personal life requires discipline and intentionality. “I make it a point to be present in both aspects of my life. Whether it’s a business meeting or quality time with my family, I give my full attention. It’s about setting clear priorities and boundaries.” She believes that true fulfilment comes from mastering this balance rather than chasing endless to-do lists.

Reflecting on her younger self, she shares a piece of advice she wishes she had embraced earlier. “Perseverance. Trust your gut, and don’t be afraid of new ideas. You are your own biggest supporter,” she says with a smile. For Morshedy, success is not defined solely by financial growth but by resilience and continuous progress. “I define success as resilience—bouncing back from challenges and continuing to grow. It’s about achieving goals while staying true to my values.” To her, success is a journey, not a destination, and it’s the ability to evolve through hardships that sets true leaders apart.

Looking ahead, she envisions Morshedy Group as a key player in shaping Egypt’s real estate future. “I see significant growth in the Egyptian real estate sector. Morshedy Group is ready to lead by investing in sustainable and innovative projects.”

Her excitement extends beyond traditional real estate. “I’m excited about AI advancements in real estate. Integrating AI can enhance efficiency and customer experiences. I look forward to growing and inspiring others.”

As for what excites her most at this stage in life, the answer is clear—opportunity. “There are so many new business ventures on the horizon, and I can’t wait to see where they lead.”

She is also keen on global expansion, with plans to introduce Morshedy Group’s expertise to international markets. “The world is becoming more interconnected, and I see a huge potential in expanding our reach beyond Egypt. We are exploring opportunities that align with our vision and values.”

She hopes her leadership leaves a lasting impact—not just on Morshedy Group, but on the industry as a whole. “I want to inspire my team and future leaders, showing that success comes from hard work and innovation. My focus on sustainability reflects my desire to make a positive impact.”

Beyond real estate, Morshedy is deeply invested in fostering leadership among women and young professionals. “I believe in breaking barriers. Women belong in boardrooms, on construction sites, and in leadership positions. The more we support each other, the more we can accomplish.”

It’s this ability to balance ambition with personal fulfilment that makes Morshedy a leader to emulate. Her story is one of determination, transformation, and unwavering dedication to excellence. As she continues to redefine possibilities at Morshedy Group, her influence extends far beyond business—it is a testament to what can be achieved when passion meets perseverance.

Her journey reflects a clear confirmation that success is never about choosing between a successful career or family—it’s about balancing both purpose and passion. With a steadfast commitment to innovation, empowerment, and sustainable growth, Nour Morshedy is not only redefining the future of real estate but also paving the way for generations to follow.
