Mohamed El Etreby continues to lead the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) through a period of significant growth, building on more than four decades of banking experience. Under his direction, NBE’s customer base surpassed 22 million and deposits reached approximately EGP 6.1 trillion by June 2026, alongside continued expansion of NBE’s digital banking services. El Etreby has also strengthened the bank’s support for SMEs through a USD 100 million financing agreement with the EBRD, while advancing financial inclusion and sustainable finance initiatives. In 2026, he was named among Forbes Middle East’s Top 100 CEOs,recognising his continued leadership of Egypt’s largest bank.
