Dr. Mohamed El-Erian is an Egyptian-American economist and businessman, and the President of Queen’s College, Cambridge University since 2020, overseeing the college’s policies, activities, and student life. He has held significant roles in the financial sector, including Chief Executive and Co-Chief Investment Officer at PIMCO, President of Harvard Management Company, and Deputy Director at the International Monetary Fund. Currently, he serves as the Chief Economic Adviser at Allianz and Chair of Gramercy Fund Management. He has been actively engaging in discussions about the current economic climate, particularly emphasising the potential for a recession in 2024 and the implications of Federal Reserve policies.
