Mohamed Alabbar is the Emirati businessman who founded Emaar Properties in 1997 and one of the most influential developers in Egypt’s luxury market. Through Emaar Misr, he has shaped some of the country’s most recognised communities, including Marassi North Coast, Mivida New Cairo, Uptown Cairo, Cairo Gate and Belle Vie. In September 2025, Emaar Misr and Saudi-owned Citystars Properties signed an EGP 900 billion development agreement for Marassi Red Sea, described as the largest tourism project on Egypt’s Red Sea coast. The project spans 2,426 feddans, just 30 minutes from Hurghada International Airport.
