Egyptian fans were happily surprised when Premier League Champions, Manchester City brought both the Premier League and Carabo Cup to Egypt as part of the Global Centurions Trophy Tours. The tour celebrates the record-breaking ‘Centurions’ season that saw the team become the first to ever reach 100 points in a single Premier League campaign.
The trophies, presented by Etihad Airways, stopped at the historic Pyramids in Giza and other places in Cairo for thousands of fans to see. Omar Berrada, Chief Operating Officer at Manchester City, said the tour was extra special as fans were given the chance to decide where the trophies visit by voting through the Cityzens membership. Egyptian fans in particular voted in incredible numbers for Manchester City to go to Egypt.
The trophies will visit more than 15 countries, you can follow their trail at www.mancity.com/trophytour and via the Club’s Cityzens membership platform.
