Makeup Shortcuts For An On-The-Go Girl

If you’re a girl who’s basically always in a rush, then makeup is probably a foreign concept; it seems difficult, tiring, or time-consuming and you really don’t have any to spare. To that end, we’ve come up with a “no-makeup makeup” routine to help you out!

The term “no-makeup makeup” is used to describe a look where you have makeup on, but you look like you really don’t – and honestly, who has the time to apply lots of makeup and not even get credit for having done so? No one! What “no-makeup makeup” really should be is what it implies: looking “made up” without applying makeup, not the other way around!

Shortcut to Perfect Skin

Let’s just make it clear that you don’t need to have foundation on every day; it’s not even good for your skin. If you take proper care of your skin instead and just moisturise daily, then you won’t need to have foundation as a go-to. If you want to fake perfect skin, here’s your easiest option: have a concealer on hand to just dab slightly over the spots you’d like to cover. A little bit here and there where needed, will give you the effect of having foundation on.

Stick to Basics

Four words: lips, lashes, brows and blush! If you always have those four on fleek, then you have nothing else to worry about.

Brows: Use either a brow pencil to fill in the gaps between your eyebrow hairs, or some tinted brow gel to brush onto your eyebrows and make them slightly more defined, because they frame your entire face.

Lashes: A little bit of the right mascara goes a really long way. Mascara, on its own, just makes your look a lot more complete.

Blush: Add a swipe of blush to your cheeks for a rosy flush.

Lips: An optional pop of colour, a simple tint to your lips or just basic lip balm will complete the look.

Full face in four steps!

Go the Extra Mile

If you don’t feel like those four things make you look made up enough, then use a cream eye shadow pen (or powder, but the pen is quicker and easier) and blend a little bit of a neutral shade onto your eyelids – use your fingers to blend! It will give your eyes a real pop without any excessive effort.

Experiment with Different Options

If you feel the need to have a perfect contour every day, your shortcut to that is just to replace your blush for a powder bronzer and swipe it along your cheekbones (you can skip the highlighting and contouring the jawline).

If you’d rather skip the mascara, the easiest thing to do is apply black pencil eyeliner to your upper waterline, and that will instantly make your eyelashes look fuller – no mascara needed! Trust us, this really works.

If you don’t want to opt for blush, then don’t! Pinch your cheeks a little bit before you walk into the place and your cheeks will have a natural flush (literally).

The best part about any of these tips is that you can do them at your house, in your car, at your office, or on the street – anywhere basically! Try these tips out, we guarantee that they are effortless and they really do work. We’re redefining “no-makeup makeup”!
