With almost thirty years of experience, Khaldoon Alfarra is the consummate hair professional. “I have spent nearly thirty years in this profession, twenty of which were in Jordan where I owned my hair salon. So, I came to the US already with a long track record. In Jordan, I specialised in bridal hairstyling. There were days when I had to style 10 brides and their bridesmaids,” he proudly explains.
Alfarra’s passion for art and colours from an early age, inspired him to enter the hair industry. “I was inspired by art and a fascination with colours. Hair colour and styling is a creative journey for me; and I feel that the result of my work is a beautiful piece of art. I study each client before deciding on a colour or a new hairdo. Mixing colours allows for personal expression,” he elaborates.
Alfarra believes that what sets his salon apart from others is his precise understanding of each client’s unique needs. “Precision means choosing the best match for the client’s skin, face, age, hair type, and length. It’s not just about any colour or hairstyle. It’s the unique combination of colour and hairstyle suited to each person that leads to happy and satisfied clients,” he stresses.
Alfarra has also ventured into creating his own haircare products, having recently launched his WK shampoo using all natural ingredients. “This shampoo was produced with people with thinning or falling hair in mind. It promotes hair follicle growth and restores hair’s youthful appearance; it contains Rosemary, Clove, cinnamon, caffeine, Ginger, multi-vitamins (E, A, B7, B5), zinc, and copper,” he recounts.
Today, Alfarra is a much sought-after hairstylist in Los Angeles, known for his dedication and commitment to excellence. The stellar reputation he has earned and his relentless desire to constantly provide his clients with the latest styles and cuts, have placed him at the forefront of the hair scene in the city.
“My goal is to make a name for myself in the beauty field. I have always dreamed of having my own hair colour line, especially since I have perfected my expertise and techniques over thirty years. My ambition is to open new opportunities and to turn my name into a brand. I’m excited about creating a whole international hair product line, not a just shampoo, which I am starting with,” he explains.
