Hany Azer was appointed Egypt’s Minister of Parliamentary Affairs in February 2026. A prominent judicial figure and a graduate of the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University, Azer previously served as Vice President of the Court of Cassation and as Assistant Minister of Justice for Legislative Affairs since 2016. Under his leadership, the ministry has significantly strengthened coordination between the judicial and legislative branches, focusing on streamlining government-drafted bills before their presentation to the House of Representatives. Azer is currently prioritising legislative automation and modernisation, advancing a joint legal digital transformation protocol signed by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Communications.
