When eniGma Magazine and Alain Ducasse, one of the world’s most renowned chefs and entrepreneurs, joined forces to create a special event, the result was bound to be an unforgettable elegant evening of great food and lively conversation. eniGma’s Editor-in-Chief, Yasmine Shihata and the Master Chef himself hosted the evening of glamour and gourmet cuisine, attended by high society A-Listers from around the globe. The location for this reception and seated dinner was Alain Ducasse’s ultra stylish Rivea restaurant in London’s sleek Bulgari Hotel & Residences. The beautiful evening was graciously sponsored by Turnbull Property Acquisition, who helped make the evening a true success.
The brilliant Ducasse, a dear friend of eniGma Magazine, is of course an internationally known figure around the world. Charming and talented, Ducasse’s perfectionism, presented so elegantly in his inspirational cuisine, has earned him 21 Michelin stars throughout his career. He is also a successful entrepreneur in his own right with 25 restaurants, three boutique hotels, and 15 books to his name. This was the second time eniGma hosted an event with Alain Ducasse at one of his prestigious London restaurants.
On this occasion, eniGma added to the glamour of the event by bringing in beautiful flower arrangements from London’s Harley’s Flowers and unique candles from the bespoke candle makers, Parable Designs, making the venue shimmer with candle lit beauty.
The evening began with a champagne reception, where Enigma’s guests had the chance to mingle with Alain Ducasse and get in the mood for the special gourmet dinner ahead. After the reception, guests were seated at 10 different tables and were welcomed by opening speeches by Yasmine Shihata and Alain Ducasse. After a champagne toast to the guests by Ducasse, the dinner began….
Enigma’s 65 VIP guests were treated to a five-course meal prepared by the legendary Chef and his amazing team. Starters included aubergine caviar, buffalo mozzarella, courgette basil, and Provence-style vegetable caponata bursting with flavour. The second course, consisting of sea bream served with fennel and lemon, was light and tender, melting in one’s mouth. The seared beef fillet that followed was definitely a favourite, cooked to perfection, succulent, and indescribable. The accompanying heavenly-made potatoes and olives made the already amazing dish even more so. Finally, the lemon shortbread with limoncello sorbet, and the gianduja palet with hazelnut ice cream were perfect desserts to complement and finish off this impeccable meal. The lemon shortbread was tangy and crisp, while the gianduja palet was rich and savory. And even after five courses of great food, guests were not overly full due to the lightness of the cuisine and the freshness of the ingredients. Though words like informal and impeccable are rarely used together to describe cuisine, Rivea London managed to create a menue with a perfect blend of the two.
But the one of a kind cuisine wasn’t the only highlight of the evening. Jamie Webb of The Prince’s Trust held an auction for The Prince’s Trust International, a global programme building on the Prince’s Trust success in the UK to help the youth. The unique prize offered for this exclusive auction was a once in a lifetime lifetime opportunity to host a dinner party at Highgrove, the private residence of HRH The Prince of Wales.
To end the evening, the event’s main sponsor Johnny Turbull thanked eniGma, Mr. Ducasse and all the guests for a lovely evening and spoke about how optimal it was to invest in London with experts like Turnbull Property Acquisition at this time.
After the amazing meal and the final speech, guests continued to mingle and to savour the delightful evening. eniGma’s jet set guests were impressed by Alain Ducasse’s charm and sophistication and the impeccable service of Rivea London’s five-star team. All in all the evening brought together an exclusive mix of select international guests, ambiance, and delicious cuisine. It was truly a night to remember.
