BEYOND BORDERS

From a family legacy in tourism to building PIE Properties, Hassan Sadek is opening new doors for Egyptian investors in global real estate.

For Hassan Sadek, crossing borders has always been part of the family business.

His story begins long before PIE Properties. In 1933, his grandfather and namesake, Hassan Sadek, founded ISIS Travel and was issued Egypt’s first tour guide license, beginning a family legacy in tourism that continues today under the chairmanship of his father, Samy Sadek.

Hassan started his own career in that world, managing Swiss groups traveling to Egypt and handling everything from accommodation and excursions to the complex operations behind each trip. He later worked on implementing technology across the group’s Nile cruise operations before moving to Hannover, Germany, where he spent several years with ECCO Reisen, the group’s German tour operator.

Working between Egypt and Europe exposed him to a different side of international business, dealing with foreign partners, contracting, technology, travel agencies and the European outbound market.

“Tourism taught me that international business is ultimately built on trust. You are dealing with different cultures, expectations and ways of doing business, but people everywhere want the same thing: to know they are in good hands.”

It is a lesson that would eventually shape PIE Properties.

PIE began as a prop-tech company offering premium off-plan properties in Egypt and selected international markets. But as interest in owning property abroad grew, Hassan saw a gap in how Egyptian investors accessed global real estate.

Egyptian buyers were increasingly looking abroad, but navigating unfamiliar markets, developers and countless recommendations made it easy to choose the wrong investment. Knowing what to invest in and whom to trust became increasingly important.

PIE evolved around that need.

Today, the company specializes in helping Egyptian buyers access carefully selected real estate opportunities in markets including Greece, the UK, UAE, Cyprus and Georgia. Over the years, PIE has brought leading developers from more than ten countries to Egypt through its private property events.

For Hassan, going global means being selective about where and with whom to invest.

“We deliberately keep our selection limited. Before we introduce a developer, we want to understand their track record, know the people behind the company and make sure their projects make sense for our clients. If we are putting PIE’s name behind something, we have to be comfortable with it ourselves.”
That approach has also led PIE to build close relationships with the owners and senior management of many of the developers it works with.

At the heart of PIE is a simple idea: making global real estate easier and more accessible. But for Hassan, there is something larger behind it too.

“Property connects you to a place. When people invest, live or spend time in another country, cultures naturally become closer. You learn from each other. I think there is real value here.”

Today, nowhere is that connection more visible for PIE than Greece.

A short flight from Cairo, Greece combines a familiar Mediterranean lifestyle with access to Europe, making it particularly attractive to Egyptian investors and families. Its Golden Visa program can provide investors and eligible family members with permanent residency and mobility across the Schengen Area, while Athens continues to evolve through major redevelopment and increasing international investment.

“People are thinking about where their family can have a second home, where they can hold a real asset in euros, generate rental income and create a base in Europe. Greece brings all these things together.”

In a world marked by economic and geopolitical uncertainty, that optionality has become increasingly valuable.

And this November, PIE is bringing Greece directly to Egypt.

The Greece Private Showcase will bring a selected group of leading Greek property developers to Sheikh Zayed, New Cairo and Alexandria for private, one-to-one meetings with Egyptian investors.

Rather than a traditional property exhibition, the invitation-only format allows buyers to meet directly with developers and a Greek lawyer, compare selected projects and understand their investment and residency options in a private setting.

For Hassan, it is another chapter in a family story that began more than 90 years ago.

His grandfather built a business around welcoming the world to Egypt. Three generations later, Hassan is taking that legacy in a new direction, helping Egyptians discover opportunities beyond their own borders.

The journey may look different, but the purpose remains the same. Connecting people with new places and opportunities for a better future for their families.

PIE Properties’ Greece Private Showcase takes place this November in Sheikh Zayed, New Cairo and Alexandria.
