As the official photographer for Enigma’s 12th Celebration of Arab Glamour & Success in Beverly Hills, Selim exceeded all expectations with his breathtaking collection of photographs and videos that perfectly reflected the essence of our stars and guests enjoying the evening. Enigma’s Farida Elserty had the chance to chat with the talented photographer about his passion for the craft and to uncover the inspiring journey that has propelled him to the pinnacle of his career.
For Beshoy Selim, photography was never just about pressing a shutter; it has always been about capturing stories. “Photography has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember,” he reflects. “I started by capturing everyday moments, but I quickly realised that my camera wasn’t just taking pictures, it was telling stories. I fell in love with the idea of freezing emotions in time. That love, combined with my obsession for beauty, detail, and storytelling, led me to turn my passion into my profession.”
His Egyptian heritage, rich with history and artistry, has left a lasting imprint on his creative vision. “Growing up surrounded by rich history, art, and timeless architecture taught me to appreciate detail, culture, and elegance,” he says. “That influence shows in my work through the way I incorporate grandeur, vibrant colours, and a sense of storytelling in every image.”
Now based in Los Angeles, Selim finds himself inspired daily by the city’s cultural diversity and cinematic landscapes. “L.A. is a melting pot of cultures, styles, and breathtaking locations,” he explains. When it comes to favourite spots, Selim doesn’t hesitate to list a few of his go-to settings. “Malibu beaches at sunset, the Griffith Observatory for its cinematic views, and the historic Mission Inn for its timeless architecture,” he shares, with each location offering its own kind of magic to his lens.
Selim’s style has also evolved into something he describes as “elegant, cinematic, and timeless.” Striking a balance between high-fashion editorial flair and raw, heartfelt moments has become his signature. “Over the years, I’ve refined it to capture both sophistication and authenticity,” he explains. For him, wedding photography is as thrilling as it is demanding. “Every wedding is live, one-time-only, and unpredictable,” Selim explains. “You can’t redo a first kiss or a first dance. Lighting, weather, and timing can all be challenging, but years of experience have taught me how to adapt quickly.”
Yet it’s those very challenges that make the rewards so meaningful. “Seeing a couple’s reaction when they look at their photos for the first time, knowing that I’ve given them memories they’ll treasure forever, is the best feeling in the world,” he says. While weddings are at the heart of his work, Selim’s artistry extends much further. “I love fashion photography, which has a strong influence on my wedding work,” he shares. “I also enjoy fine-art portraits.” This blend of disciplines enriches his ability to bring elegance and creativity into every frame.
When asked what wisdom he would pass on to aspiring photographers, Selim doesn’t hesitate. “My biggest advice is to always believe in yourself,” he says.

In 2024, he was named World’s Best Wedding Photographer at the International Photography Awards (IPA), a prestigious honour that recognises both his exceptional craft and his global impact. He was also ranked the #1 Middle Eastern Wedding Photographer in the USA for three consecutive years.
With more than 1,000 weddings captured worldwide, Selim boasts an impressive 66 awards to his name, including distinctions from WedAward and PROWED, which showcase the breadth of his excellence.
