Akef El Maghraby is CEO and Managing Director of Suez Canal Bank, bringing more than two decades of experience across banking and finance in Egypt and the MENA region. Since taking the helm in 2024, he has focused on the bank’s transformation, digital innovation and expansion. Previously, El Maghraby served as Vice Chairman of Banque Misr after a 16-year career at Citibank Egypt, where he led Corporate and Investment Banking. He holds an MBA from The American University in Cairo and has completed Harvard Business School’s Executive Leadership Program.
