Khaled Hashem

Minister of Industry

Khaled Hashem was appointed Egypt’s Minister of Industry in February 2026, succeeding Kamel El-Wazir, after serving as President for the Middle East and Africa at Honeywell, a US-based multinational specialising in advanced technology and industrial solutions. Hashem has also served on AmCham Egypt’s Board of Governors and chaired its Energy Committee. He has introduced several key strategic initia-tives in 2026 to optimise the country’s manufacturing output, enhance domestic value chains and boost integration into global markets. As part of his broader strategy to deepen domestic supply-chain integration, Hashem has pursued localisation agreements with the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) and Haier Egypt to manufacture precision components locally and reduce reliance on imports.
