Tamer Waheed has transformed the Arab African International Bank (AAIB) since assuming leadership in May 2023. His bold reforms have revitalised the bank, which saw its assets grow by 65.2% to reach EGP 539.2 billion by the end of 2023, compared to EGP 326.4 billion a year earlier. AAIB’s deposits surged by EGP 175.7 billion, marking the fastest annual growth in eight years. Waheed’s strategic direction also saw customer loans rise to EGP 154.5 billion, up 22.5% year-on-year. With net profits doubling to over EGP 7 billion, Waheed’s leadership has positioned AAIB among Egypt’s top financial institutions, driving innovation and growth across the sector.
