Farida and Yasmine Khamis took over leadership of Orientals Group in 2020, which is founded by their father, Mohamed Farid Khamis, in 1979. Through its flagship, the group exports to 118 countries and also owns the British University in Egypt, Egyptian Propylene & Polypropylene, and Shorouk Academy. In 2024, the group signed a $1.5 million contract with Integrated Renew- able & Sustainable Communities to install a 2.5 MWp solar power plant at its largest manufac- turing facility in 10th of Ramadan City. In July 2025, they launched the OW Haptech Store in New Cairo, the world’s first phygital carpet retail space.
