On March 15th, downtown Cairo witnessed hordes of enthusiastic crowds that participated in the very first marathon of 2019, organized by Cairo Runners. The Cairo Marathon 2019, held under the auspices of Ministry of Youth and Sports, included people of all age groups and all walks of life running for exercise and a healthy lifestyle. The successful event was sponsored by renowned real-estate developer, Mountain View, whose aim was to spread happiness and promote health and wellness.Through sponsoring the marathon, Mountain View sought not only to to spread awareness about healthy lifestyles but also to promote a worthy cause, since part of the proceeds would go to 57357 Children’s Hospital, which specializes in cancer treatment for children.The marathon consisted of several runs depending on your level of fitness. To embrace inclusion, the races included challenged persons, who were presented with awards, as well as athletes, working professionals, and fit families. After the run people socialized over entertaining activities and enjoyed a stellar musical performance by the DJ duo Disco Misr.
