If you still haven’t seen samples of the 2017 Pirelli calendar, by German photographer Peter Lindbergh, then you’re missing out on a whole lot of natural beauty. The 44th edition of the calendar entitled “Emotional,” features 14 inspirational Hollywood legends, portraying the essence of their perfection while expressing their true beauty with zero airbrushing or retouching.
Iconic photographer Lindbergh explained, “I wanted to portray women not in terms of their perfection, but through their feelings and emotions. That’s why I called this edition of the calendar ‘Emotional’ not some artificial perfection, but the real world and the emotions that well up behind the faces of these women.”
Capturing the women who have always played an important role in his life, up close and personal, Lindbergh reveals the idea behind the 2017 Pirelli Calendar as a way “to remind everyone that there is a different beauty, more real and truthful and not manipulated by commercial or any other interests, a beauty which speaks about individuality, courage to be yourself and your own private sensibility,” says Lindbergh.
