10 TIPS FOR A BRIDE-TO-BE FROM A BRIDE-TO-BE

We know how stressful planning a wedding can be. With all the never-ending details and pressure, it’s hard for a bride not to turn into an unrecognisable, monstrous creature. But that’s okay, we understand and we’re definitely not here to judge. Here are some tips to help minimise the “Bridezilla” fits during this oh so lovely time.

First things first: you’ll be fighting with your significant other a lot, and we’re not taking sides here, but you’ll probably be the one causing troubles from all the stress. Again, that’s okay, but just remember that it’s a stressful time for both of you, so try not to let things get between you. Try to keep the groom alive, and always keep in mind that you’re a team!

Cross picking your hairstylist and makeup artist off your list.  Get this task over with as soon as possible because later on, you’ll get so wrapped up in so many other things that you’ll keep postponing trying out different artists. And by the time you come to book the ones you wanted, they might not be available.

Your laser hair removal sessions are a must. Don’t get lazy or postpone them. No matter what; prioritise them like your life depends on it, or you’ll regret it later.

Don’t stress out too much about your figure, you’ll probably be losing weight anyway from all the stress, and you’ll look beautiful either way. If you need to stress-eat, no one will judge you for it.

Your mom will nag A LOT and you’ll be arguing with her A LOT, but that’s only because she knows what’s best for you, so take her advice and get a move on.

Keep your mother-in-law on your good side, always, not only because she’s lived with her son most of her life, and she’s got helpful tips on what you’re in for, but also because he might not be so cooperative during this time, so don’t expect him to get too involved with the details.

Call me crazy, but don’t stress too much about the dress.  If you’re going on a dress hunt, do that as soon as you set the date, and while your at it, put it as your one mission so you don’t get distracted by anything else. If  you know exactly what you want and are planning on designing one, pick a designer from a trusted source, who has successfully done this before. Trust them blindly and have nothing to worry about.

If you’re getting the house done while planning your wedding, you’re in a for ride. Worry more about finishing your house, and leave the wedding to your planner. Plan out your days to get a task or two done for each day because that’s too many details to worry about.

Plan your honeymoon ahead of time. It may be the most exciting part of this circus and the one thing you’ll both look forward to, but it also involves preparing a lot of paperwork, documents, visas and all that, so don’t leave it till the last minute.

Put some of the pressure and tasks on your bridesmaids. Don’t feel like your asking too much of them; if you need help, ask. That’s exactly why they’re called “bridesmaids“, and besides, they’re probably the only ones who get you, know what you want and won’t be afraid of your bridezilla side.

It’s a stressful time and you may not be able to see the finish line, but try to enjoy it while it lasts, because it’s not every day that you get a free pass to being terrifying and emotional at the same time.
