Winter is coming. After a long October, a new month is finally here. We can’t believe it, either. And you know what November’s arrival means, right? New movies! And with the weather slowly, but surely, getting colder, enjoying a nice picture in the theater is certainly enticing. Here are the top 10 Hollywood movies that will be released this month:

Doctor Strange:

Starring: Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams & Chiwetel Ejiofor

The much-awaited debut of the famous Marvel Comics character Doctor Strange is finally here! The beloved superhero will be portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch in this self-titled picture that will delve into how he became the powerful wizard that he is. Sounds magical, doesn’t it?

Trolls:

Starring (voices of): Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake & Gwen Stefani

The latest animation project by DreamWorks, Trolls, will feature voiceovers by stars such as Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake and Zooey Deschanel. It tells the familiar, albeit always popular, story of two characters going on a mystical, coming-of-age journey that’s well-tailored for some good ol’ family fun.

Hacksaw Ridge:

Starring: Andrew Garfield, Teresa Palmer & Vince Vaughn

Another picture with a familiar plot comes in the form of Hacksaw Ridge. After all, we’re all accustomed to the entire narrative of tortured soldiers fighting a fight that isn’t theirs at this point. We’re hoping that Hacksaw Ridge manages to bring a fresh take on this tried and tested formula through its focus on the true story of World War II soldier, Desmond Doss, and his heroic effort of saving 75 soldiers without taking a single life.

Arrival:

Starring: Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner & Forrest Whitaker

Not many films coming our way in 2016 have felt as melodramatically epic as Arrival. The film focuses on a group of scientists tasked with investigating the endless possibilities brought about by the mysterious landing of unknown spacecraft across the world. With its ambitious synopsis and stellar cast, Arrival promises to be one of the month’s biggest must-sees.

Bill Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk:

Starring: Kristen Stewart, Vin Diesel & Steve Martin

Another war movie, but bear with us here, this one seems just as original as a soldier-led film could be. Bill Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk uses a flashback structure to shed light on the multidimensionality of wars and how they could be interpreted differently, even among people on the same side. Its name might be a bland mouthful, but the movie itself promises to be anything but.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them:

Starring: Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston & Colin Farrell

The first instalment of a five-film series that’s part of a newly created cinematic universe? Colour us intrigued. A Harry Potter spinoff? Sign us up. A movie not only based on J.K. Rowling’s book of the same name, but also featuring the inspirational writer’s screenwriting debut? Just shut up and take our money!

Manchester by the Sea:

Starring: Casey Affleck, Michelle Williams & Kyle Chandler

The Affleck brothers sure do love Boston. Manchester by the Sea tells the story of a janitor (Casey Affleck) whose life is transformed after his brother’s death forces him to return to Boston and serve as guardian to his young nephew. It’s not a surprise that the picture comes smack-dab in the middle of ‘Oscar season’; early reviews have already earmarked it as a stern contender for some of the biggest awards.

Nocturnal Animals:

Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Amy Adams & Isla Fisher

Speaking of awards, Nocturnal Animals is coming to theatres fresh off its win of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2016 Venice International Film Festival. As you would expect, given its title, the film tells the story of two conflicting divorcees discovering dark truths about their personalities. Wait, you couldn’t have expected that at all. The thrills look set to be aplenty nonetheless.

Allied:

Starring: Brad Pitt, Marion Cotillard & Lizzy Caplan

Brad Pitt in a World War II setting? Well, boungiorno! After his memorable role in Inglorious Basterds, the beloved actor is once again returning to the bloodiest conflict in history. In Allied, Pitt plays a Canadian intelligence officer who falls in love with a French resistance fighter at the peak of hostilities. What could go wrong?

Lion:

Starring: Dev Patel, Rooney Mara & Nicole Kidman

Dev Patel trying to find his family in India? We’ve never heard this story before, have we? The Slumdog Millionaire star searches for his long-lost family in Lion, 25 years after being adopted by an Australian family at the age of five. He’s joined by Rooney Mara and Nicole Kidman in a picture that delves into family and how our origins really define us.
