The Weddings that Wowed 2020/21

Here’s the scoop on the most glamorous weddings that dazzled us in the past year and a half all over the Arab world. Whether in Cairo, Dubai, or Damascus, each wedding was unique in its own way. Regardless of how elaborate or luxurious each of them was, the loving vibes felt by everyone present made each and every one of them very special. From event planners to entertainment, we’ve got the details for you.

Dorra Zarrouk & Hany Saad

Tunisian actress Dorra Zarouk and Egyptian architect and interior designer Hany Saad tied the knot in November of 2020 in La Maison Bleue in Gouna during the week of Gouna Film Festival. The gorgeous Dorra wore a stunning gown by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad. The couple celebrated their night with their celebrity friends and danced the night away with DJ Sugar.

 

Ali Bakry & Nouran Aly

Nouran Aly and Ali Bakry tied the knot with a beautiful celebration, courtesy of event planner Dina Iskandar in El Gouna, in October of 2020. The bride wore a Sandra Mansour dress and a simple, attractive headpiece from Halo Headpieces. Singer Hisham Abbas provided the entertainment while the gorgeous couple and guests danced the night away to the band Disco Misr.

Hanady Mehanna & Ahmed Khaled Saleh

Hanady Mehanna, actress and daughter of Egyptian composer Hany Mehanna, celebrated her marriage to actor Ahmed Khaled Saleh, son of the late Khaled Saleh, at Hilton Heliopolis in November of 2020. The bride wore a stunning gown by Egyptian designer Hany El Behairy, while the fabulous entertainment roster included singers Tamer Hosny, Hassan Shakoosh, Omar Kamal, and Medhat Saleh.

 

Janat Safar & Tino Zahr

Janat Safar and Tino Zahr got married in March of 2021, in Damascus. The stunning bride wore a gown by the Lebanese designer Robert Abi Nader and a jewellery set by Safar and Co.

Jude Benhalim & Mostafa El Kholy

The iconic jewelry designer Jude Benhalim got married to Mostafa El Kholy in September of 2019 at the Marriot Mena House Hotel overlooking the Pyramids of Giza. Party planner Dina Iskandar created a Moroccan theme with a vibrant colour palette; while Benhalim wore a beautiful Marchesa bridal gown and a gorgeous matching floral headpiece. Singer Mahmoud El Esseily added a romantic vibe to the magical evening.

Kariem Abbas & Rana Badr

Kariem Abbas and Rana Badr celebrated their love with a three-day celebration that started with a marriage ceremony, followed by a pre-wedding party and culminated with a glamorous wedding celebration in the family villa in Alexandria. All three events were planned by Dina Iskandar. The stunning bride wore a short Zuhair Murad dress on the first day’s ceremony, a Norine Farah two piece set at the pre-wedding party, and finally a beautifully beaded Hala Bakr Couture wedding gown at the wedding itself. The talented Salim Assaf wrote a song for the couple’s entrance and Hamaki later sang the night away with the couple.

Bassel Somakia & Zena Machout

Bassel Somakia, CEO of Cottonil, celebrated finding love for the third time with his children by his side. Somakia wed Zena Machout in October of 2020 in his villa in Kattameya Heights. The gorgeous Syrian bride was dressed in Hany El Behairy and the wedding was organised by Katatny. Wedding guests included Amr Diab, Mohamed Ramadan, and belly dancer Johara. The three celebrities also provided the entertainment for the enchanted evening.
