Marsa Alam’s Oriental Coast All Revved Up

The usually quiet and tranquil Red Sea city of Marsa Alam was pumping with energy last weekend from the roar of wild engines. For the first time, the 7km Oriental Coast Marsa Alam resort by OUD (Orientals for Urban Development) held an extraordinary, adrenaline-rush rally event.
Rally enthusiasts from all over Egypt converged at the beautiful mega-project by OUD to partake in the two-day event. The event saw participants enjoy a 4X4 challenge, camping by the sea and entertainment shows that continued long into the night.
Firing into the race’s first place was Rahala Racing, with drivers Hany Omar and Hany Madbouly in a Prototype Buggy. Edging into second place was Sahara Racing, with drivers Ahmed Shouman and Ihab El Husseiny in a Dodge Ram; while The Eagles dashed into third place, with Hanz Heinz and Sherif El Alem behind the wheel of a TLC.
4×4 Challenge winners were Terios driver Rana El Harty, finishing in a total time of 06mins 59secs. Second and third place were grabbed by Mohamed Sheta (jeep) and Omar Mahgoub (jeep Xj), both coming in at a total time of 07mins and 02secs.
After a day of pure fun and adventure, the attendees left with extraordinary memories from the long day. Between enjoying the sandy beach and thadrenalinefueled rally in the desert, the day has certainly exceeded alexpectations. Sponsors included OUD, Oriental Coast, Sentido Hotel, Travel Lux and Bosla. OUD’s 7km mega-project includes Las Cabanas, Matangi, Sentido Hotel and Arena Hotel.
