Emily Milan, an extraordinary innovator in the realm of photography, brings a breath of fresh air to the concept of the photobooth. She is revolutionising the field with her one-of-a-kind photobooth that captures the essence of memorable moments. eniGma was pleased to include her booth in its 10th Celebration of Arab Glamour & Success. Unlike other booths, Milan’s photobooth transports its subjects into a world of their own, where every click of the camera captures not just a moment, but also the essence of their most authentic selves. eniGma’s Ereny Guirguis had the chance to chat with Milan about her extraordinary journey and the success she has achieved with her unique photobooth.
Let’s start with a brief overview of your background and your career.
I am Emily Milan from Beirut, Lebanon. I moved to California, two years ago. With a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Economics, I am skilled in sales, negotiation, construction, management, and strategic planning. Also, I own and operate a photobooth business based out of Orange County, California. I am a dedicated, organised, independent, and methodical individual, and I have good interpersonal skills. In addition, I am always willing to learn and develop new skills. My motto is: Life is now. The more you celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate. I call my new business A Pause Button for Celebrating Life.
What inspired you to start this business?
The main inspiration for starting my business is my entrepreneurial spirit and my love for making every moment shine with the love and fun I can share with people. There are also successful people I have admired in my life. I am also inspired by the fact that every day is a new day, and I think that there is an opportunity everyday, especially when you’re building a business.
What challenges did you face while starting your business?
Finding and attracting customers is a startup challenge, especially since I am new in this country. So, one of the biggest challenges is to attract customers in an area where many new businesses fail. So, I am proud of what I have achieved up till now.
What was the best event you participated in so far?
All my events are special to me. I execute every event with love and every event has the taste of being special. The unforgettable events that have touched my heart with the love of people I met are the red carpet event with eniGma magazine’s 10th Celebration of Arab Glamour & Success in Beverly Hills, and the event of Beirut Nights ‘Gold’ Skybar, also in Beverly Hills.
How was your experience at eniGma’s 10th Celebration of Arab Glamour and Success in Beverly Hills?
First, I want to thank you for inviting me to this event. It was a great experience, full of a variety of advertising opportunities. I am really lucky to participate in such a glamorous celebration. It’s a very promising experience, and I look forward to always participating.
What is your advice for younger generations who want to start their businesses?
My advice is: Get as much education as possible. Be honest in your dealings with others. Don’t stop dreaming; everything is possible. Another important piece of advice is not to be afraid to start again, as everyday is a new beginning. Always strive to do the best you can with what you have. Above all, forgive others, for you never know what can happen; everything can change in an instant. Don’t give up trying.
