We knew the 2017 Oscars would be the event of the year, leaving us with so many unforgettable moments to talk about forever and that’s exactly what it was. Last night, The 89th Academy Awards ceremony put on the show of a lifetime; awards were won and lost, candy was flying around everywhere, and while no one fell off the stage, history was definitely made.

“La La Land” stole the night with 14 nominations, and walked away with 6 wins.

Viola Davis made history when she won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in “Fences”, thereby becoming the first black woman to win an Oscar, an Emmy and a Tony for acting.

This time pizza and Girl Scout Cookies weren’t handed out, but the guests didn’t leave empty-handed when Red Vines and Junior Mints were parachuted from the ceiling. “Time to find out how well those Spanx really work,” Jimmy Kimmel said.

Emma Stone dazzled everyone in her gold Givenchy gown and won the award for Best Actress for her performance in “La La Land”.

Casey Affleck won the Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in “Manchester by the Sea”.

At age 32, “La La Land” director Damien Chazelle became the youngest director to ever win the Oscar for Best Director.

“Moonlight” won for Best Picture, but not before a little drama shook the room. After first announcing “La La Land” as the winner of the award, the Academy cut short the team’s speeches to hand the award to the rightful winner, “Moonlight”….. Awkwaaarrddd.
